Hello and welcome to the Jaffery High School page! Jaffery High School has a long and rich history of providing academic as well as extra-curricular excellence to the bright young minds of our communities. Knowing that our children are the leaders of tomorrow, we strive to provide them with the necessary knowledge and skills needed to excel in today’s competitive world, so that they can be their best as individuals and as professionals.
Following the Cambridge International Education curriculum, our high school spans from years 7 to 9 (the check point year), 10 and 11 (the IGCSE year) as well as years 12 and 13 (the GCE A levels). Using the latest pedagogies and technologies, we ensure that our high schoolers are challenged and stimulated mentally in their academics, sharpening their critical thinking as well as their creative skills. In addition to world class academics, our school believes in holistic learning.
We have extra-curricular activities ranging from various field sports, athletics and swimming to several school clubs. For sports, we have several in-house school competitions as well as various inter-school competitions throughout the academic year. With regards to clubs, our students choose from the following depending on their interests: community service, drama and language, cooking, book reading, environmentalism, STEM and arts, crafts and embroidery.
We believe that the high school years are very crucial formative years in preparing individuals for their college, university, and professional lives. The environment should be one that fosters passionate and fun learning, creativity, critical thinking, leadership skills and team work as well as inculcating ethics and values. At our school, we believe we have managed to create such an environment.

Cambridge Lower Secondary (Years 7 - 9) |

Lower Secondary is referred to years 7 to 9. This enables the school to impart learning to our students in the core subjects of Maths, English and Science. The students are also educated on Social Sciences (Geography, Business Studies, Accounting and Economics), ICT and Kiswahili. In the second term of Year 9 the students are advised and guided to select the subject combinations that they want to learn at the IGCSE level based on their interests and aptitude. At the end of the Lower Secondary in Year 9, students sit for the Lower Secondary Checkpoint Examination. |
In years 10 and 11 the school offers the IGCSE curriculum from Cambridge International Examinations. The students are offered a choice of subjects under Core and Optional Groups: Core Subjects include: English (First Language / Second Language), Mathematics, Kiswahili Science Students: Physics, Chemistry and Biology Arts Students: Business Studies, Economics and Accounting All students choose one of the following elective subjects: Geography, ICT or Computer Science At the end of Year 11, the students sit for their Cambridge IGCSE Exams. |
Cambridge International AS and A Level (Years 12 and 13)
In years 12 and 13 the school offers the Cambridge International curriculum at AS and A Levels. This is the world’s most popular International qualification and prepares our students for tertiary education. The syllabus develops a deep understanding of subjects and independent thinking skills.
At Jaffery Academy, A-Level students can choose 3 CORE subjects from the following options:
Economics / Business Studies / Accounting / Mathematics / Geography / Physics / Chemistry / Biology / Computer Science
