Principal Message

Mrs Fatemah Juma

"What the hand does the mind remembers.” – Dr. Montessori A warm welcome to Jaffery Academy Montessori School, one of the very few fully-fledged Montessori Schools in Tanzania! We follow the Montessori method which was started in the early 20th century by Italian physician Dr Maria Montessori, who developed her theories through scientific experimentation and observation of her students. This revolutionary method of education has since been used in many parts of the world, in public and private schools alike.

Montessori education is student-oriented and self-paced but guided, assessed, and enriched by knowledgeable and caring teachers, classmates, and a nurturing environment. Within our classrooms, designed to create natural opportunities for independence, social responsibility and accountability, children embrace multi-sensory learning and passionate inquiry. Individual children follow their own curiosity at their own pace, taking the time they need to fully understand each concept and meet individualized learning goals.

Given the freedom and support to question, probe deeply, and make connections, our Montessori children grow up to be confident, enthusiastic, and self-directed learners and citizens, accountable to both themselves and their community. They think critically, work collaboratively, develop their creativity and act boldly and with integrity.

What better outcome could you wish for your children?

Academics:

The Montessori system goes beyond the traditional classroom to identify individual student strength and areas of development. It teaches us to appreciate the course of life and the different stages it takes to grow and  develop. Jaffery Nursery School has recently started the Montessori Program in 2021 and with positive comments, has embarked on opening a third environment. The Nursery section will fully run on Montessori within the next Academic year (2023-2024).

A classroom in Montessori is identified as an environment, which is meaningfully structured to enhance a child’s learning and development. The curriculum consists of the following areas Practical life Sensorial Sports and swimming, Mathematics, Language, Culture.
